Cathryn Dhanatya, PhD
Cathryn is President/CEO and Co-Founder of Growing Good Inc., a professional services firm that advises and develops strategy for non-profit organizations and companies who aim to do good in the world. Most recently, Cathryn was the Chief Scientific Administrative Officer and Chief Administrative Officer for Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) at the Entertainment Industry Foundation. She received her doctorate from the UCLA in Social Sciences and Comparative Education.

Quinton Newell, BS, CMA
Quinton is the Director of Strategic Operations at the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) Coordinating Centre, where he is a strategic leader. Before joining the NIHR in 2014, Quinton worked for more than 14 years at Cancer Research UK, where he was responsible for the administration of the charity’s applications and award process, grants, funding policy and procedures and IT systems.

Katherine Szarama, PhD
Katherine is the Director of Health Care at Arnold Ventures, where she develops and oversees strategic investments in emerging regulatory and reimbursement issues for high-cost drugs, devices, and biologics. To complement this experience, Katherine worked as research and venture grants manager at Emerson Collective, a social change organization focused on accelerating cancer research and treatments.

Dan Burkwood, BA (Hon)
Dan is currently Director of Research Operations and Communications at Cancer Research UK (CRUK). He has over 15 years of experience in research funding at CRUK and currently leads a department responsible for the charity’s research funding and evaluation, as well as research communications and engagement.

Gillian Fairfield, MA, MA Sol
Gillian is Cancer Research UK’s General Counsel for Life Sciences, and of Cancer Research Horizons (Cancer Research’s drug discovery and innovation company). She has over 25 years’ experience as a lawyer, helping companies with their growth, development and strategy, was a corporate finance partner in Herbert Smith Freehills LLP and is a Trustee for the National Trust for Scotland and on the board of Cranfield School of Management.
